for scott since i was MIA

mmmk so I have been on and off again for awhile now since oh january stuck in phase 1 for what seems like an eternity. my plan is to do this week 7 days straight NO EXCUSES and see how my muscles feel to see if I should move on to the recovery week or to stay in phase 1 longer. I have been keeping track of my reps and wrote the date on a few things so here it is any advice on where to go from here is much appreciated!!!

chest and back
standard push ups 3/2:18, 16   3/13: 20,20  3/28: 20,20
wide front pullups3/2: 8,10  3/13: 10,7  3/28: 13,8
military pushups3/2: 14,10 3/13: 12,8  3/28: 12,8
reverse grip chinups 3/2: 10,8 3/13: 12,10  3/28: 12,10

well, I won't bore you with the whole write up but basicly shows that there has been some improvement over like oh 4-5 weeks? I know it is too much time in between days sometimes I will hit 3 or 4 days in a row then miss a few...I also have written down 3 other weeks besides the 3 I put here and that was in January and February so I'm just pretty lost as where to go from here. I hate staying stuck and I shouldn't view it that way but it can be frustrating. I have the same amount of weeks for arms and I get through plyo on those weeks also but I have noticed the legs workout isn't there as much only about 4 weeks worth so I guess I have a habit of starting the week off strong then it dies off near the end.....

So my goals.....
1) Right now I can do 25 pushups in a row I want to be able to do 50 by the end of phase 2
2) I want my abs to show through nicely
3) Never let my boss Liz beat me at arm wrestling she keeps challenging me and I win and I need to keep it that way! And it is right handed (I'm a lefty :P)
4) Do 15 pullups (reverse grip) with no help from the stool (can do 9 right now)
5) Drop 5 more pounds (currently 131 down from starting weight of 140)

I'll call that good for now, how will I reach these goals?
1) stop missing workouts!!
2) Do ab ripper 3x a week
3) start watching my diet better...one of my toughest obstacles right now
4) cut down on pop my BIGGEST CHALLENGE

my 'idol'

alrighty im taking the advice of scott and picking who i want to look like as motivation, well ive always loved surfing and like the movie blue crush so i would say definately kate bosworth the main character

 yep shes got what i want thin yet toned and i wouldn't mind being even more toned than that not too much but enough to look good but still be feminine. :)
yesterday i did chest and back but didnt have the energy to fit in abs. today im going to kill plyometrics and see if i have the energy for abs. im going to try to add some cardio in at least 3x a week to burn the extra fat, another tip from scott keep em coming scott!!!! i need all the help i can get! im looking forward to watching my body change. :) i just need to keep staying commited to working out and to updating this blog.

back on track

I guess this time being sick didn't last too long it was weird I still feel a little iffy today but I was good enough to do the arms workout and abs. My reps are up from the last time I did this one so I'm feeling good about it. Tomorrow I might attempt plyo if I'm up to it and if not I'll do another one of the other ones as long as I can keep up on it on a day to day basis. I have 3 tests next week so trying to work out and study ought to make for a fun week. I still need to take measurements and pictures considering I've been at this for almost 3 weeks....I need to just do it and stop talking about it :P

sick...again....?!!!

so yesterday did chest and back and abs. I can do more reps and I'm not very sore yet so that is good. The plan was to hit it hard this week and do 7 days in a row and blammo I'm sick again go figure. Headache, sore throat, blowing my nose every 2 seconds. I just hope it goes away fast I hate when getting sick interferes with working out and I'm never sure what to do work out anyways or let my body recover, pick up where I left off or backtrack. Either way its a big pain!

hiiiiiii YA!

I did abs and kenpo karate tonight and I feel pretty good now. I have been slacking the last couple of days and didn't do anything but I did do legs on Sunday. Well most of legs, I didn't make it through the last 15 minutes because I had to get ready for work but I figured most of a workout is better than no workout!

The way P90X works is that there are 3 phases each consisting of the same 7 workouts for 3 weeks and the 4th week is a 'rest' week with a little bit different mix up and then each new phase brings in new workouts. The 7 workouts of course go throughout the 7 day week....my question to myself is when should I move to phase 2? I'm not sure because I have done about 2 weeks worth of phase 1 but over the course of a few weeks or maybe a bit longer with sometimes 1-3 days between workouts depending. I don't know if I should stick to the 1st phase longer than normal or spend 2 more weeks in it. Any thoughts?

My weight has been fluctuating between losing 5-6 lbs to being only 3-4 but I think its because of different times of day weighing I should just pick 1 time...but I also think it has to be the added muscle which in the end will burn more fat so I need to be patient. I do know that my jeans fit looser and a couple people have said I'm looking better so I'll go off of that. :) All 3 sure would be nice though...:P

As far as nutrition, I have my good and bad days. Some days I have milk and juice and fruits and veggies and other days I eat chips and pop. haha. I know I shouldn't but its hard to go all out on it. I just need to make small improvements for now and maybe I will get there.

yoga tonight

I'm having a hard time getting up the energy to do yoga tonight probably because I know it hurts my wrists and its a really long video, an hour and a half. Sunday I did arms and abs, Monday I did chest and back and abs, Tuesday I did plyo and tonight I need to do yoga.

I have been working out with John and Lexie and having other people to do this with helps tremendously! On nights that I don't work out with them like tonight it is harder to motivate myself but I need to get it done. They did it earlier today so I need to hold up my end.

I still need to get my camera and take the actual 'before' shots before I get too far into phase I and measurements as well.

My weight is at a standstill right now but I think I'm gaining muscle and losing fat and my pants are looser. Things are getting easier too. The first couple times of plyo I could hardly sit afterwards and now I'm barely even sore from it and didn't have to pause it. Ab ripper is always a good workout and I can do most of the reps of everything now minus bicycles those are still a pain.  I can do about 20 pushups in a row (real pushups not girl pushups!) and 3 pullups. 3 doesn't sound like much but considering when I started I could only do 1 and that I'm a chick I think its not too shabby. :)

Im excited to see what another week will bring and how much I will improve.

ARMS!!!

so tonight I will be doing arms and abs. I'm still getting over being sick so I'm glad this one isn't as intense as some of the other workouts. i entered a biggest loser contest where im doing clinicals so i can have more motivation so im excited. i weighed in today at 135 :).
i took a picture the other day it will be weird to post it but what the hay maybe you all 3 whole people want to know where im starting at haha.
i know these should probably be longer but maybe they will be eventually, i just want to keep up on the blogs and the workouts . :)

and I'm sick...

I was going to do arms and abs yesterday and wouldn't you know it I am sick. I'm coughing, sore throat, headache. I'm going to try and get better and then pick up where I left off. I know some people work out when they're sick anyways and say that it actually helps, I think it sounds like crap. Maybe it works for them but I think it would just make me feel worse and drain my body when it's trying to get better.

Plyometrics

Yesterday I did plyometrics. Tony doesn't lie it is the mother of all the workouts!!! I already knew what to expect because I've done it before but I'm still just as sore every time so far! My butt is the most sore  from it so sitting down is fun. :) I think that my legs need the most work on my body so far. My endurance could use some help too. I saw that Tony just came out with a book about all this so I really want to go buy it in the next couple of days. I could especially use help with the nutrition part of the whole program.

I did spoil myself and go get a massage about an hour ago it was awesome, and much needed. It helped get rid of this headache I've had for about 3 days. I think it was due to my neck being so tight. On every work out and every stretch I think I tense my neck up so I'll pay attention to that.

I probably won't do arms and abs today I know that I should but I will for sure do those ones tomorrow for now I just want to unwind....I know bad me! I'll get there eventually to working out back to back days but for now I'm making progress and I'm happy with that.

About a week in now....

Hello,
This is officially my first blog ever and why not have it be about me doing P90X? I figure it will give me more accountability and help me keep myself in check. So far I have done 1 week of it so 6 workouts over the course of actually 2 weeks so my goal this week is to cut down on the days between workouts. I want to get to working out every day but so far I'm not there yet. I am happy with some progress rather than no progress though.

I bought P90X maybe a year ago and I keep starting and stopping it but I really want to get it done this time. My main goals are to lose about 20-25 lbs and get toned. I don't mind replacing fat with muscle so I will try to pay more attention to inches and not the scale...but that is definitely easier said than done! So far though, I am down 4 lbs.

I did the chest and back workout yesterday and am feeling the soreness today. It's a good thing though it means I know its working! Hopefully today I will get plyometrics done, it is one of my harder workouts to do. My favorite has got to be the arms dvd and kenpo. Yoga also kills me mostly my wrists the whole first 45 minutes.

Heres to hoping this blog is semi-interesting and I will try to post photos eventually....:)
